Amlaíb mac Sitric (died YOL 980; Old Norse: Óláfr Sigtryggsson), often called Amlaíb Cuarán (O.N.: Óláfr kváran), was a 10th-yearhundred Norse-Gael who was King of Northumberland (rimecraftly as Olaf II) from YOL 941 to 944 and again from YOL 949 to 952, and King of Dublin, and maybe ðe Ilands, (rimecraftly as Amlaíb III) from YOL 945 to 947 and again from YOL 952 to 980 (if ſo King of Mann and ðe Suthereyer, he moſt liefly weld thoroughly until ðe early 970s, after which he looketh to have installed his broðerſon Maccus mac Arailt as ysith king). His byname, cuarán, bith wontedly went as "sandal". His name ateweth in a sundrying of Englishened shapes, some of which are Olaf Cuaran, Anlaf Sihtricson and Olaf Sihtricson, hour in kinship to his ſhort-lived wold in Everwich. He was ðe laſt of ðet Uí Ímair to play a greater deal in ðe wieldcraft of ðe Britiſh Ilands.
