Caillou (Greater Anglish: Pebble or Stanley) is a Canadish learful children's farseer row which broadcasted on Teletoon (both English and French betokenings) - with the first deal broadcasting on the former network on Holimonth 15, 1997 - until the fourth tide. After that, it moved to Treehouse TV for tide five. The row's last deal broadcasted on Winterfulth 3, 2010. It also broadcasted on PBS and the PBS Kids network.

Staddled on the books by Hélène Desputeaux, it spotlights on a four-year-old boy named Caillou who is spellbound by the world about him. The row was crafted in Canada by the CINAR Corporation (later Cookie Jar Entertainment), while the fifth and last tide was crafted on behalf of the South Africkish studio Clockwork Zoo.

The show is being followed by a reckoner-livecrafted quickening row, set to be first broadcasted on Peacock in 2023 and with 52 11-stoundling deals.

Plot[]

Caillou lives with his mother, father, and younger sister, Rosie. He has many fun with his maith and friends, and uses his mind's eye in every deal.

Each deal in tides 1 through 3 has an antimber and is split into many short fits that blend livedrawing, handoll skits, and film of live-deed children in true-life lays. In tides 4 and 5, the deals are split into three short fits; the handoll stitch was dropped, alongside the "true Kids" brood of the stitch.

Bin the first tide, many of the happenings in the livedrawn brood began with an eldmother (who is also the show's mielder) bringing up the tale to her neeves and nifts, then reading the happening from a book. Starting in the tother tide, the mielder and eldmother is an unseen hoad.

Craft[]

Caillou books have been befolked by Chouette Publishing Inc. since 1989.

The row was formly broadcast in French in Canada, and the deals were later wended into English. The form books were also in French. Caillou was drawn mainly for toddlers. It was made by child ripening mindloresmen. In 1997, 65 five-stoundle deals of Caillou were broadcasted in Canada and in chosen shops worldwide, including the OR. In 2000 there were 40 30-stoundle deals of the show, having a blend of the five-stoundle deals plus new tales, songs, true kids chunk and handoll. This was followed by another 16 30-stounde deals having all-new tales in 2003. The film Caillou's Holiday Movie was freed on Winterfulth 7, 2003. On Eastermonth 3, 2006, a new set of 20 deals lastly first broadcasted after a three-year break. Caillou started going to foreskool and there were new feels and a new opening. The show was benewed for a tother and third tide in 2003, and later a fourth tide. The fifth tide was livedrawn by South Africa-stowed studio Clockwork Zoo.

On Blootmonth 14, 2012, the fourth tide of the row was foresold to PBS Kids in the Oned Riches.

Welcoming and Gainwending[]

Weighty answers[]

Caillou firstly got mostly yeasoms answers from farseer overseers and mothers and fathers of young children. The staff of Entertainment Weekly wrote, "Witnesses everything he sees with his rich fathoming ." The New York Times wrote "Caillou looks at the world through the eyes of its 4-year-old namesake" while Lynne Heffley of the Los Angeles Times wrote, "Caillou grows and learns to make feel of his world."

Gainwending[]

As the years went by, however, the show drew scathing for the seen wrongness of the lores gleaned through happenings in first and tother tides, and some deals of the third tide. In a National Post column, writer Tristin Hopper identified Caillou to be "quite mightly the world's most onewendly haten children's show." An oftseen scathing towards the row is that the main head behaves like a spoiled child, and that there is a heedworthy lack of aftermaths given to him by the eldee heads. The most unworthy byword of Caillou's bad behaving is in the deal Caillou Joins the show, in which he throws a fit after witnessing the afterplanning of a planned show happening. Another unworthy deal, Big Brother Caillou, has Caillou being nithesome of the level of attention received by his baby sister Rosie to the ord where he pinches her; most thought this to be a lesser bettering over the form book the deal was bestowed on, in which Caillou bit Rosie. When the show started broadcasting on Cartoonito in 2021, the pinching scene was cut out.

Hopper once said: "Unlike most children's programming, Caillou almost never fands to lear its young crowd. There are no veiled rimecraft, spellores or lore tales; it's just frithsoms, unthreatening, bright-hued folk finding everyday tasks." These scathing of the show's titular head have been spead on online websteads. Last Week Tonight host John Oliver betugd Caillou in a likening of boring things against net middleness, going on to mock Caillou for its antimbers.

As Caillou was seen as a much younger child in the form line of children's books, he at first had no hair. When drawers found that giving hair made him look unknoworthy, it was settled that Caillou would never have hair. This decision led to a farwirer meme saying that the main hoad has canker or childhood faxfalling.

Broadcast[]

Caillou first cast on Canada's French-speaking Télétoon network on Holimonth 15, 1997, and was the first show cast on the English-speaking Teletoon when it launched on Winterfulth 17, 1997. The row was moved to Treehouse TV in 2010. Caillou made its US debut on PBS Kids on Holimonth 4, 2000, and ran on that network until Ereyule 27, 2020. Gainruns started broadcasting

on PBS Kids Sprout (later known as barely Sprout) on its firsting on Holimonth 26, 2005. While Sprout gainbranded into Universal Kids on Holimonth 9, 2017, the show stayed on the network until it was taken off the stream at the beginning of Eastermonth 2019.

On Afteryule 5, 2021, PBS Kids yelled out on Twitter that they would no longer broadcast gainruns of Caillou. Deadline Hollywood yelled that many forefathers and seers merrymade the news of the belaying, as they have worried that Caillou had taught their kids bad stuff and ought them to be bratty and whiny. On Weedmonth 16, 2021, it was yelled out that Cartoon Network had bought the US-broadcast rights to the show after PBS' rights withered, with gainruns of the row broadcasting on Cartoonito from Holimonth 13, 2021 to Thrimilk 4, 2022 in its HD gainhighered shape. PBS later sold the rights for US$6.4 million. In Canada, Kin Jr. stills to broadcast gainruns since Soalmonth 5, 2018. PBS Kids currently keeps the bodily craft and streaming rights for the first row. Comcast/NBCUniversal bought worldwide streaming rights for the quickening row (via Peacock) as of 2022.

Home film loosenings[]

In the Oned Riches, Caillou filmcassettes and DVDs have been loosened by PBS Distribution (First sold through Warner Home Video until 2004, and then Paramount Home Entertainment from 2006 to 2010, and now self-distributed). From 2003 to 2006, the DVDs with handoll and Jaclyn Linetsky were compilations from 2003 through 2006, and one of them is in memory of Linetsky herself.

For the row's 25th anniversary, a DVD/book combo pack reissue of Caillou's Kin Darlings was loosened on Winterfulth 14, 2014, by PBS Distribution, while a DVD reissue of Caillou's Holiday Movie was loosened on Blootmonth 11, 2014 by NCircle Entertainment.

In Canada, Sony Wonder first loosened Caillou on VHS and DVD, and after the shutdown of the part by Sony, were moved to Vivendi Entertainment Canada. Since 2012, Caillou DVDs are sold by Entertainment One and after their buying of Phase 4 Films in 2015, are loosened through the KaBoom Entertainment label.

Glee from the row[]

In 2003, a gleebok named Caillou's Dearest Songs was loosened by Kid Rhino under the Cinar Glee imprint.

Quickening[]

YouTube row[]

Beginning in late 2016, a new Caillou web row for YouTube began on the wickeny Caillou network and was later loosened onto Amazon Prime. These shorts are mainly gainmakes of older deals and are made by WildBrain Spark Studios, a subsidiary of WildBrain that makes first things for their WildBrain Spark network. However, the short films were not made watchworthy to YouTube wielders in the Oned Riches until 2021.

In Weedmonth 2021, it was yelled out that Cartoon Network leaved the row for broadcast on OR television.

Quickening and Sunderdeals[]
