The Clash of Hjörungavágr (New Norwegish: Hjørungavåg) is a half-folktalesome fleet struggle that happened in the late 10th hundredyear between the earls of Lade and a Danish inslaught fleet led by the nameknown Jomsvikings. The clash is told of in the Nordish kings' sagas - such as Heimskringla - as well as in Jómsvíkinga Saga and Saxo Grammaticus' Gesta Danorum. Those late written ledgers are clever but yorelegworkers believe that they inhold a kernel of truth. Some today's scoldish wordcraft anentens to the clash, inholding staffs by Þórðr Kolbeinsson and Tindr Hallkelsson.
