Folklatish betokens sundry kinds of Latish spoken mostly by the lower rungs of the befolking and the unlearned throughout the Romish Rich, which over many years unfolded into the Romanish tungs of today. It is therefore a loose name for unwritten kinds of Latish, having many slang words. In many falls a given Folklatish word was the forebear of a Latish word of today, whereas the evenworth in Old Latish has no offspring in Latish tungs. For byspell, Folklatish testa "pot" took the stead, in the Romanish tungs, of the Latish word caput, meaning "head".
