Golden Grave Offering-0

The fair hue and keen workmanship on this golden grave-offering, from Italy in the first thousandyear B.C., shows why this orestuff is so sought-after.

Gold (Token Au) is the seventy-ninth firststuff. It is an orestuff, but stands out from the others because of its great dearth or gnede, fair yellow hue, and unrustingness. It is also very heavy, its thickness being 19.3 times greater than that of water, and 1.7 times as great as lead's. Gold's great worth, its luster, and the softness for which it can be easily worked have made it a greatly sought-after thing since elder days, mainly for use in minting, trade, and as athelwear.
