Hayes (High Anglish: dogfish) are a samming of flatgill fish betokened by a gristleboneset, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head and breastfins that are not melded to the head. Nowen hayes are put in the Truehaye (Selachii) branch and are a sister set to reighs. The word haye, however, may be also brooked to name other outdead deer from the flatgill underilk that are outside of the truehaye samming. If those are told, the oldest hayes tewed up over 420 twisand years ago.

There are many couth erds of haye, such as the great white haye, tiger haye, sand haye, whale haye, blue haye, shiner haye, thresher haye, hammerhead haye, nurse haye, and micklemouth haye.
