London is the headtown of England. It sits in the south-east of Great Britishland, straddling the Thames ea. Over 7,000,000 folk live within the town today.

Eretide

pre-Romish and Romish

No one knows the ord of the name gievn by the Romefolk in the year 43, who called it Londinium. Only a few years later it was burnt down by Boudica in an uprising against Romish lordship. It was soon built anew, and became the headtown of the Romish shire of Britannia. It was later named Augusta.

Angle-Saxish

After the Romans left, London was forsaken. The incoming Angles and Saxes at first settled nearby a town they called Lundenewic, which lay outside the old town walls. Later they began living inside the old town, and it soon became a great town once again.
