I have never seen the anglish moot before. I just have one ask. At first sight it seems to me to little heed is being taken of English manyword verbs. To show the way, "cut back on" or "cut down on" could well be used instead of "reduce" in the wordbook as well as "lessen' and the other singleword verbs.
In the same way "tell off" can be used instead of "scold", "berate" and so on.
In ESOL there are books with over 700 so-called "phrasal verbs", most of which can stand in for Ffrench and latin rooted words.
