The Netherlands (Netherlandish: Nederland; Western Freesish: Nederlân; Saxish: Nederlaand) is an ethel in Western Eveland whose headtown is Amsteredam and whose ambight leid is Netherlandish (also known as Salish or Low Frankish). The Freesish folk, who live in the north, have their own Freesish leid. The Saxish folk, who live in the northeast, have their own Saxish (Nether Theech) leid. All these leids are Theedish.
The ethel is hemmed by the Theedish Sea in the northwest, by Belgland in the south and by Theechland in the east. About 16.8 million live in the Netherlands.
