It is the {{Over|twoth biggest boundland|second largest state}} by land {{Over|swathe|area}}, with 47,624 {{Over|four-side thousandmetes|square kilometres}} (18,388 sq mi), and fourth {{Over|biggest|largest}} in {{Over|befolking|population}} (7.9 micklered) among the sixteen Länder {{Over|kerneled|federated}} as the Bound Ledewealth of [[Theechland]]. In {{Over|green landspan|rural areas}} Northern Low Saxish, a {{Over|byleid|dialect}} of Low Saxish, and [[Saterland Frish|Saterland Freesish]], a {{Over|kind|variety}} of Freesish Tung, are still spoken, but the {{Over|rime|number}} of speakers is {{Over|dwindling|declining}}.

Nethersex borders on (from north and clockwise) the [[North Sea]], the {{Over|boundlands|states}} of [[Sleswick-Holstone]], [[Hamborough]], Mickleborough-Forepommers, Brandenborough, Saxland-Onhold, [[Thiringerland]], Hetwars and [[Northrine-Westfalls]], and the [[Netherlands]]. Furthermore, the {{Over|boundland|state}} of [[Brims]] forms two {{Over|inkeys|enclaves}} within Nethersex, one being the stead of [[Brims]], the other, its sea{{Over|harbor stead|port city}} of Brimerhaven. In fact, Nethersex borders more neighbours than any other {{Over|one|single}} Bundesland. The {{Over|boundland|state}}'s {{Over|main stead|principal cities}} inhold the {{Over|boundland headstead|state capital}} Highover, Braunschweig (Brunswick), {{Over|Moonborough|Lüneburg}}, Osnabridge, Oldsborough, Hildesham, Wolfsbeadle, Wolfsborough and {{Over|Goddings|Göttingen}}.

The northwestern {{Over|swathe|area}} of Nethersex, which lies on the {{Over|edge|coast}} of the North Sea, is called East Freesland and the seven East Freesish Islands offshore are {{Over|folkful|popular}} with {{Over|sightseers|tourists}}. In the extreme west of Nethersex is the Emsland, a {{Over|thewkeepingly needy|traditionally poor}} and {{Over|huddlely befolked swathe|sparsely populated area}}, once {{Over|bestrided|dominated}} by {{Over|inthuringly|inaccessible}} swamps. The northern half of Nethersex, also known as the North {{Over|Theech Fields|German Plains}}, is almost {{Over|always|invariably}} flat {{Over|but|except}} for the {{Over|mild|gentle}} hills around the Brims {{Over|ghost|geestl}}and. Towards the south and southwest lie the northern {{Over|bits|parts}} of the Theech Middle Uplands: the Weser Uplands and the Harz {{Over|barrows|mountains}}. Between these two lie the Low Saxish Hills, a {{Over|stretch|range}} of low ridges. Thus, Nethersex is the only Bundesland that {{Over|holds|encompasses}} both {{Over|sealike|maritime}} and {{Over|hilly swathes|mountainous areas}}.

Nethersex's {{Over|higher steads|major cities}} and {{Over|trade midsts|economic centres}} are mainly {{Over|laid down|situated}} in its middle and southern {{Over|bits|parts}}, namely Highover, Brunswick, Osnabridge, Wolfsborough, Saltgitter, Hildesham and {{Over|Goddings|Göttingen}}. Oldsborough, near the northwestern {{Over|seashoreline|coastline}}, is another {{Over|trade midst|economic centre}}. The {{Over|field|region}} in the northeast is called the Moonborough Heath (Lüneburger Heide), the {{Over|biggest|largest}} heathland {{Over|swathe|area}} of [[Theechland]] and in {{Over|middle eld|medieval}} times wealthy due to salt mining and salt trade, as well as to a lesser {{Over|inch|degree}} the {{Over|bedraining|exploitation}} of its {{Over|turf mires|peat bogs}} up until about the 1960s. To the north, the Elb ea separates Nethersex from [[Hamborough]], [[Sleswick-Holstone]], Mickleborough-Western Pommers and Brandenborough. Most of the boundland's {{Over|land|territory}} was {{Over|bit|part}} of the {{Over|sheedly|historic}} Kingdom of Highover; the boundland of Nethersex has {{Over|fostered|adopted}} the {{Over|wappens|coat of arms}} and other {{Over|signs|symbols}} of the former kingdom. It was {{Over|shaped|created}} by the {{Over|blender|merger}} of the Boundland of Highover with three smaller boundlands in 1946.
