The Anglish Moot

I have a translation of these first two chapters that I originally translated directly from the Greek and have adapted to Anglish. I think it might make a solid update to the current one, though I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to replace it without group consent. Here's the text:

Head 1

1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon, and our hands handled, about the word of life— 2 and the life was shown, and we have seen it and witness and tell to you the everlasting life which was with the father and was shown to us— 3 what we have seen and heard we tell also to you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And indeed our fellowship is with the father and with his son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you so that our hight may be full. 5 And this is the tiding that we have heard from him and tell to you, that god is light and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie and do not the truth; 7 but if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we mislead ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we acknowledge our sins, he is steadfast and lawful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Head 2

1 My little children, these things I write to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sin, we have a spokesman with the father, Jesus christ the righteous; 2 and he is forgiveness for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for all the world’s. 3 And in this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his bodewords. 4 He who says, “I know him,” and does not keep his bodewords is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the love of god is fullmade. In this we know that we are in him. 6 He who says he abides in him ought himself to walk as that man once walked. 7 Beloved ones, I write you no new bodeword but an old bodeword which you had from the beginning. That old bodeword is the word that you heard. 8 Again, I write to you a new bodeword, which is true in him and in you, that the darkness is being led away and that true light is already shining. 9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even till now. 10 He that loves his brother abides in the light and in him is no stumbling block, 11 but he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness and does not know where he goes, for the darkness blinded his eyes. 12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you through his name. 13 I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, youths, because you have overcome the evil one. 14 I wrote to you, children, because you know the father. I wrote to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I wrote to you, youths, because you are strong, and the word of god abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone love the world, the love of the father is not in him, 16 for everything in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not from the father but is from the world. 17 And the world is being led away along with its lust, but he who does the will of god abides forever. 18 Children, it is the last stound, and as you heard that antichrist is coming, also now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last stound. 19 They went out from us but were not of us, for if they were of us, they would have beleft with us; but they went out from us that they might be made bare, that they all are not of us. 20 And you have an aneling from the hallowed one, and you all have knowledge. 21 I did not write to you because you do not know the truth but because you know it and because every lie is not from the truth. 22 Who is the liar if not he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who gainsays the father and the son. 23 Everyone who gainsays the son does not have the father. He who acknowledges the son also has the father. 24 Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abide in you, you also will abide in the son and in the father. 25 And this is the oath that was given to us—everlasting life. 26 These things I wrote to you about them who mislead you. 27 And the aneling that you onfanged from him belives in you, and you have not a need that anyone teach you; but as the same aneling teaches you about all things, and is truth, and is not a lie, and even as it taught you, you shall belive in him; 28 and now, little children, belive in him, that whenever he may be shown, we may have boldness and not be ashamed and sundered from him upon his coming. 29 If you know that he is lawful, ye know that every man that does righteousness has been born of him.
