Western Friesish (Frysk) is a West Theedish tung spoken in the northern Netherlandish shire of Friesland by umb 350,000 folk.
It is also the twithe tung of about 120,000 speakers.
Moreover, in the H20th, umb 150,000 Western Friesish speakers outwandered to other deals of the Netherlands, with a few having also left for other land throughout the world (mainly Andland and the Americas).
As an Angle-Friesish tung, it was also formerly spoken along the western shores of the Netherlands. Albeit having intaken many loan words from Netherlandish in the last yearhundreds, it is still mainly known as being the mostly akin tung to English outside of Briten (some would say Scots is closer, notwithstanding soothness that it is oft-said to only be a byleid of English) :
Western Friesish :
Dizze dei is goed oeral.
English oversetting :
'This day is good overall. The sun is warm and the light from the sun-shine feels good with the mild wind. Yesterday also was good, but this day is better. The sunrise and the sunset is beautiful with the blue sky. But this day is like the springtime and not the summertime. I find this day the best of the week. The rain comes for the weekend for Saturday and Sunday morning, but it shall not be cold and shall go over us by the midday. The stars shall also be visible in the night and so shall the moon.'
A more word-for-word English oversetting:
This day is good overall. The sun is warm and the light from the sun-shine feels good mid the mild wind. Yester eke was good, but this day is better. The sun-upgang and the sun-undergang is moy mid the blue lofts. But this day is like the maytime and not the summertime. I find this day the best from the week. The rain comes for the weekend for Saturday and Sunday morn, but it shall not be cold and shall gan over us by the midday. The stars shall eke be sightbearing in the night and so shall the moon.
Western Friesish is hedged by UNESCO as a threatened tung.
